FORT WAYNE, Ind. (12/2/2014) --
Redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds to lead the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team to a come-from-behind 81-74 overtime victory on Tuesday at the Gates Sports Center.

It was her second career double-double as she drained seven 3-pointers and had four assists in 43 minutes of action. Reynolds is just the 18th Titan in school history to score at least 30 points in a game, while she was just one three shy of tying the school record. The 33 points is the most by a Titan since teammate Ellisha Crosby had 33 versus Eastern Michigan last season.

Sophomore Haleigh Ristovski posted a season-high 13 points and career-high 11 rebounds for her first career double-double and freshman Chea Taylor had six points and a season-high eight rebounds in 12 minutes of court time.

Detroit (2-3) was down three, 67-64, with 14 seconds left in regulation when the Titans were able to get the ball into the hands of Reynolds, who calmly stepped back and sank her seventh triple of the game to knot it all up. The Titan defense then held strong forcing an IPFW (2-4) miss and sending the game into overtime.

In the extra time, it was all Titans as they outscored the Mastodons, 14-7. IPFW did take a one-point lead, 73-72, with 3:14 remaining, but Reynolds hit a jumper and Ristovski followed with a three, her second in overtime, to give the red, white and blue a 77-73 lead.

A free throw by IPFW made it a three-point game, but four free throws from Reynolds down the stretch iced it for the Titans.

Senior Ellisha Crosby finished with nine points and two rebounds and freshman Darianne Seward tallied eight points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal. Sophomore Minisha Frederick-Childress recorded six points, two steals and a season-high seven boards and junior DaVonna Bradford added four points and two caroms.

Detroit finished the game shooting a season-high 47.6% (30-of-63), including 57.7% (15-of-26) in the second half and 75.0% (3-of-4) in overtime. The Titans also connected on a season-high 11 from behind the arc, while the defense held IPFW to 29.7% (22-of-74), including just 2-of-12 (16.7%) in the extra session.

IPFW had a five-point lead in the second half, but Reynolds squared it at 35-all with 14:46 left.  That is when the Mastodons turned it on and opened a nine-point advantage, 51-42, midway through the period.

The Titans quickly cut into that as Reynolds had a basket and a three and Crosby got inside for a bucket to pull within two, 51-49, with 8:42 on the clock. From there, Detroit kept plugging away tying it at 56-56 with 5:37 left before eventually taking a 62-60 lead off another Reynolds three at the 2:59 mark.

Seward gave Detroit a three-point lead at 64-61 as she was able to get loose inside for a layup, but the Mastodons would regain the lead with 1:25 remaining in the game.

It was a back-and-forth first half as neither team had more than a six-point lead with two ties and eight lead changes. IPFW scored the first four points of the game, but Detroit came right back with back-to-back treys from Reynolds.

UDM then led 10-9 when the Mastodons went back in front, 15-12.  Detroit got within one at 15-14 and again at 18-17 when IPFW scored five in a row to open its largest lead at 23-17 with 5:38 left in the opening half. A 3-pointer by Crosby and a basket by freshman Nicole Urbanick made it a one-possession game, 23-22.

Detroit would end up tying it and taking the lead, 28-26, thanks to a jumper from Crosby and a layup from Bradford, but the Mastodons were able to knock down a three with 10 seconds left to get the lead back going into the break.

Detroit will have the rest of the week off before returning to action inside historic Calihan Hall when the Titans host Madonna next Monday, Dec. 8, with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.  It will be "Kind and Unwind" Day with finals week on campus and the first 100 students will receive free stress balls.
