The Titans (5-9, 0-1 HL) were down by as many as 15 in the first half, but a three by Reynolds to start the second stanza had UDM down by just 1, 43-42. A three by Milwaukee (5-8, 1-0 HL) pushed its lead back to four, but two free throws from Wilcox trimmed that deficit down to just two, 46-44, with 18:53 left.
Detroit cut it again to two, 49-47, after Ristovski sank a 3-pointer and then Wilcox had had a strong offensive rebound, where Reynolds finished off the possession with a bucket to bring the Titans within two again, 53-51, at the 15:21 mark.
The Panthers then tallied seven-straight points to open a nine-point lead at 60-51. Detroit battled back to make it a five-point contest at 62-57 and again at 68-63 off trey by junior
Lariah Stevens with 8:42 on the clock. From there, the Panthers were able to extend the lead back to double digits and pull away for the victory.
Detroit ended up shooting 44.6 percent from the field, but Milwaukee was 32-of-61 (52.5%) and 15-of-29 (51.7%) from behind the arc.
The game got off on the wrong foot for the Titans as Milwaukee made its first six shots from the field – including three triples – to take a 16-3 lead just three minutes into the contest.
The Panthers continued to lead by double digits and were up 32-17 at the 9:59 mark when the Titans got right back in the contest with a 16-4 run over the next six minutes.
Ristovski started the spurt by nailing a three and then Reynolds added three points. After a Milwaukee basket, Seward and Reynolds had back-to-back layups and UDM was within seven, 34-27. Two free throws by the Panthers made it a nine-point game, but Reynolds had two-straight buckets and then she found Ristovski who floated it on and the Titans trailed by just three, 36-33, with 3:53 remaining in the period.
Later on, two free throws by Ristosvki had UDM down by just two, 37-35 and the red, white and blue would end up trailing at the half by just four, 43-39.
Detroit shot just under 50 percent in the first half hitting 14-of-30, but Milwaukee was 15-of-30, including 9-of-17 from the outside.
