Tyler Hughes scored his first collegiate goal in spectacular fashion Saturday night, using a bicycle kick in the 73rd minute to help the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team to a 1-1 draw against Cleveland State University at Krenzler Field. Hughes' goal tied the match 1-1 after the Vikings had scored the first goal of the game earlier in the second half.
Detroit (3-2-6, 0-0-3 HL) is unbeaten in its last seven matches and hasn't lost a game in nearly one month. The Titans last dropped a contest on Sept. 6 at Jacksonville. It's the longest unbeaten streak for the Titans in head coach Nicholas Deren's six years at the helm and longest as a program since 2005.
The two sides played through both overtime periods with neither getting the golden goal. It was the fourth-straight draw for the Titans, which also set a new school record for draws in a season with six surpassing the 2007 team that finished with five ties.
Detroit has tied all three of its Horizon League matches in 2015. UDM also had conference draws against Valparaiso and Northern Kentucky.
The Titans gave up just one goal, marking the 10th time in 11 matches this year that they have given up one goal or fewer. Senior goalkeeper
Nathan Steinwascher made four saves in the first half and six overall, making his 10th start of the season for Detroit.
How It Happened• Neither team scored in the first half, with Detroit making four saves on Cleveland State chances in the first 45 minutes.

Tyler Moorman put a pass into the box. Smith's attempt was saved by CSU goalkeeper Aleksandar Drobac.
• Hughes scored from the right side of the box after receiving a cross by senior defender
Jacob Prud'homme. Hughes corralled the ball and fired a bicycle kick that cleared the defense and Drobac to knot the match up, 1-1.
• The Vikings had the best offensive chances in overtime, but Steinwascher, who made two saves in overtime, and the Titans were up to the task to prevent the golden goal.
