DETROIT (11/18/2015) -- National Girls and Women's in Sports Day, a yearly tradition at Calihan Hall, is set to be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 prior to the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball game against #MetroSeries rival Oakland.

Check-in the day of the event begins at 9 a.m. Registration is FREE and is designed for girls from ages 6 to 12. The clinic is slated for a 10 a.m. start with mini competitions, skill instruction and hands-on demonstration from Titan student-athletes scheduled for those in attendance.

All participants will receive a free T-shirt as well as a goodie bag and free admission into Detroit's 1 p.m. game against Oakland, the first meeting between the two rivals in the 2015-16 season.
