DETROIT (11/5/15) – Former Titans' spirit squad member
Marianne Grima was named the new head cheerleading coach at the University of Detroit Mercy.

Jeremiah Hergott. "Her experience as a cheerleader and student at UDM, on top of her outstanding role in the community, will be very beneficial to the development of our cheerleading program."
Grima was a member of the UDM cheer team from 2011-15 and served as a co-captain on the team from 2014-15. She has also racked up coaching experience after serving as the assistant varsity cheer coach at Clarenceville High School from 2012-14.
While at Detroit, Grima served several campus leadership roles. Grima is the President and founder of UDM'S Detroit Prevention and Awareness in the Community (DPAC) and has also served as a UDM Presidential Ambassador since 2012.
Most recently, Grima has worked for UDM as a manager and technician in the Audio Visual Department. She has been an outstanding representative in the Detroit community, serving as a student leader of the Ford Community Corps Partnership since 2014.
As a student at UDM, she received numerous awards and honors. She earned the 2015 Jerome Rozycki Criminal Justice Studies Award, the 2015 John Daniels Student Servant Leader of the Year Award and the 2015 Leadership Medallion Award.
Grima graduated from Detroit Summa Cum Laude in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice and minors in psychology and leadership. She is currently enrolled in the UDM Master's program in intelligence analysis.
