COLLEGE PARK, Md. (11/20/2015) -- Junior guard Rosanna Reynolds scored a team-high 15 points for the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball in a 97-41 loss to No. 8-ranked Maryland on Friday. It was Detroit's first game against a ranked opponent since the 2013-14 season. The Terrapins (3-0) are the defending Big Ten champs and reached the Final Four last year.

Reynolds (Canton, Mich. / Divine Child) sank three triples and scored in each quarter for her 15 points. Sophomore Nicole Urbanick (Grosse Ile, Mich. / Divine Child) scored eight of her 10 points in the fourth quarter for the Titans. Junior Haleigh Ristovski (Sterling Heights, Mich. / University Liggett) notched eight points and a team-best seven rebounds for Detroit (0-3).

Detroit played well in the first quarter and was active defensively, forcing the Terrapins into several turnovers and fouls. Ristovski knocked down a triple with 1:48 left to cut the Maryland first-quarter lead to six points, 14-8. Maryland would rally in the final minutes of the first quarter, scoring the final eight points of the stanza.

The Titans started out the second quarter strong as freshman guard Brittney Jackson (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Nazareth) sank a long two-pointer from the top of the key before Haleigh Ristovski followed with an offensive rebound and putback on the next offensive possession. About a minute later, Reynolds hit a corner triple off an assist from Haleigh Ristovski.

Detroit forced Maryland into seven first-half turnovers and had more offensive boards than the Terrapins in the first 20 minutes by a 6-5 margin. Reynolds scored eight points in the opening half, sinking two triples.

Urbanick made 4-of-5 free throws in the final quarter and also hit two buckets to lead Detroit with eight points in the final 10 minutes. Detroit tallied 11 points in each of the last three quarters.

UDM played well defensively throughout and forced the Terrapins into 11 turnovers overall for the game. Detroit had just 14 turnovers during the contest, including just eight after the first quarter. The Titans also kept Maryland under the 100-point plateau for the first time in the 2015-16 season.

Game Notes
• It was the first ranked team that the Titans have faced in exactly two years. Detroit last played a ranked foe on Nov. 20, 2013 against No. 21 Michigan State. Detroit's last contest against a Top-10 team came on Nov. 23, 2012, when Detroit played No. 6 Penn State, falling by just eight points, 80-72.
• Reynolds and Urbanick each scored in double figures for the third-straight game. Reynolds has led Detroit in scoring in all three contests this year.
Haleigh Ristovski has tallied at least one block in each game this year. She had two against Maryland. She has also led Detroit in rebounding in all three contests.
• It was the second of three scheduled meetings for Detroit with a Big Ten team this year. The Titans play at Michigan State on Dec. 21.
• Reynolds surpassed the 800-point plateau in the first half Friday and has 810 points total in her career. She is 190 points away from 1,000.
Lola Ristovski made her first collegiate start during the contest, starting alongside her sister. She scored four points in the second half, pulled down three boards and had a steal.

Up Next
The Titans stay on the east coast for their next contest, playing at St. Bonaventure on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. tip. Following the non-conference game against the Bonnies, Detroit returns home for a four-game stretch, beginning on Nov. 29 against Niagara.
