#TitanTuesday is usually a time to sit down with a Detroit student-athlete, coach or administrator, but we have a special guest in today's edition as Kris Kringle sat down with DetroitTitans.com.
Christmas is just a few days away as Saint Nick shares with us some holiday tales.Â
What Is Your Favorite Snack That Kids Leave For You?
"It has to be cookies. The bigger, the better. Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar, you name it, if it's a cookie, then that puts an even bigger smile on my face. Some even leave warm cookies and it's like a surprise. I have a couple of families who leave sandwiches out for me and the reindeers, and that is great. There's one family in Michigan that has a plate of roast beef on the counter. Not sure if that is even for me, but it is good."
How Do You Make It To All The Houses In One Night?
"That is a Santa trick that you will never know. It is really about using all the time zones effectively and getting a good early start. Once I get in the air, then it is right to work. The elves do a great job of packing my bag, so I don't have to go looking around and lose any time. It is a battle against time and let's just say, I am undefeated as I have always made all my stops and get home in time to wake the misses up to spend our Christmas together."
How Do You Stay In Shape To Get Down All Those Chimneys?
"I really start training a couple of months before Christmas. I watch the NFL combine on TV every year and I get some great agility training exercises from there. Just like my athletic days, I always believed in the phrase my coach used to tell me in that 'Where there's a will, there's a way' so I do what I have to do to stay my nimble self."
How Hard Is It Not To Get Spotted By Anyone?
"This is something that is getting harder and harder. I mean with technology now, everyone has a camera somewhere. Even five and six-year-olds have iPhones so it is getting tricky, but I am Santa Claus and each generation always has its challenges."
With All Those Stops, Do You Like A White Christmas?
"Nothing says Christmas with snow coming down. I love it. With that said, nothing wrong when I get a chance to fly over some great beaches and see the waves crashing into each other in the ocean."
Do You Know The Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy?
"We all know each other. I was just talking to E. Bunny the other day about entrance and exit strategies. Both of us really have the same time frame for getting our work done. The Tooth Fairy is different. We don't spend a lot of time together because that job is literally 365 days a year, never a day off. A lunch here and there is the best we can do."
What Is Your Favorite Sport?
"Nothing beats the great Snow Ball games of the North Pole. It is like our own Olympics. So many great games, but I have to say that Santa loves the luge. We have some great courses and I don't want to brag, but I have some outstanding times and speed in that sled."
How Are You Able To Keep Track Of Who Is Naughty Or Nice?
"Well, I have to say that is a lot easier now with technology. Most days, I just write myself a text or email to remind me of the good – or bad – that I see. Most children are just wonderful, and I am in constant contact with parents, although most of the time, they are just telling me what they want."
Is Tommy Titan On The Naughty Or Nice List?
"All in all, he has been good. Aside from a few photobombs that he put himself into this season, where he has ruined some great family portraits, and that one time he walked over to a mom holding a sleeping baby and woke him up trying to be cute, he has been good. I am sure he will get something for Christmas."
What Is On Your Christmas List?
"I need a new laptop, mine is starting to show some wear and tear. Beats by Dre would be great and I wouldn't be mad if the new Jordan's are under my tree. But, the best present for me would be tickets to historic Calihan Hall and the #MetroSeries to see the Titans take on Oakland."
