GREEN BAY (2/18/2015) – Green Bay senior forward Greg Mays scored a career-high 34 points – 26 in the first half – to help guide the Phoenix past the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team 96-76 Wednesday night at the Resch Center.

Paris Bass recorded his third double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore
Jarod Williams scored in double figures as well with 17 points.
Bass also finished with a team-high four assists, two blocked shots and a steal.
Green Bay (21-6, 10-3 HL) used a 16-3 run over the final two minutes of the first half to break open a 31-31 tie and never looked back.
Detroit was able to trim the lead to 10, 67-57, with 12 minutes remaining in regulation, but that was as close as the score would get as Green Bay used a 29-19 run to end the game.
Mays led four Phoenix in double figures with 34 points, while Keifer Sykes scored 23; Carrington Love added 15 and Jordan Fouse pitched in 13 points.
Green Bay shot 55 percent (31-of-56) overall and 73 percent (28-of-38) from the free throw line, while Detroit connected on 49 percent (26-of-53) of its shots and 66 percent (20-of-30) from the charity stripe.
Detroit will conclude its three-game road trip when the Titans visit Youngstown State on Saturday, Feb. 21. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at the Beeghly Center and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN3.
