DETROIT (9/23/2015) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team peppered the opposing goalkeeper, but was unable to break through in a tough 0-0 draw against IPFW on Wednesday afternoon from Titan Field.

The Titans' tallied a whopping nine shots on goal and added nine corner kicks, but each chance was turned away by IPFW's Kiley Dunning.

On the opposite end of the field stood the reigning Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week in freshman
Claudia Eustaquio, who directed traffic and made three saves in 110 minutes of action to pick up her third-consecutive shutout.

Senior
Alyssa Lotito led the Titan offense with five shots (three on goal), while junior
Anna Mindling put three shots on net and senior
Tatum Zurawski recorded a pair of shots on goal.
The draw is the first of the season for either team. Detroit moves to 4-4-1 overall, while the Mastodons pick up their second positive result of the season to improve to 1-8-1.

How it Happened• After a somewhat slow start, Mindling broke free for the game's first scoring chance in the 15
th minute. Mindling let loose a low, driving shot, but the Mastodons keeper sprawled out to make a save. The ricochet found the feet of Mindling again, but Dunning was there again to force the ball wide.
• In the first half, Detroit led the Mastodons in shots on goal (4-1) and corner kicks (5-0).
• Coming out of the break, the Titans looked poised to take the lead with three lightning-quick scoring chances within the first 1:30 of the second half. Mindling snapped two shots off and Lotito added a third chance, with Dunning turning away all three shots.
• Detroit's first eight shots came on net. The first errant shot came in the 71
st minute of action.
• The Titan defensive line was strong again, forcing the Mastodons to take shots from long range as Detroit stayed organized at the back. Only three of IPFW's 11 shots were on target.
• In the opening seconds of the first overtime, senior
Jennifer Borawski burned the IPFW defense down the left side and found classmate Zawacki with a cross, but Zawacki's chance at a golden goal from the middle of the box missed just outside the right post.
