DETROIT (10/15/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer squad dropped a Horizon League match at home on Saturday with visiting rival Wright State scoring one goal in each half in a 2-0 triumph over the Titans.

The Titans came strong out of the gate, firing the first four shots of the match, although none of them were on goal. Wright State would get on the scoreboard first as senior Eric Lynch fired a free kick from the center of the field, 30 yards out to the right side of the goal, upper 90. His goal in the 40th minute gave WSU a 1-0 halftime lead.

Wright State added another goal just minutes after the halftime break with the league's leading goal-scorer Peguy Ngatcha heading home a cross in the box from Jackson Dietrich. Ngatcha's 10th goal of the year gave WSU a 2-0 advantage.

Detroit Mercy had two shots on goal during the match -- both in the second half. One was a chance by senior Tommy Bowman on a rush towards the goal with his look being blocked away by the keeper. Freshman Jake Reitzloff also had a shot on goal from the top of the box late in the contest.

Junior midfielder Matt DeVries finished the match with a team-high three shots. Freshmen defenders Justin Murray and Garret Weaver each had two shots, while Bowman also had two shots for the Titans.

Robbie Beckwell and Josh Flamme each had time in net on Saturday with Beckwell turning away five shots and Flamme making two saves. Detroit Mercy was out-shot in the match 21-10 and the Raiders also had a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
