DETROIT (12/10/2016) -- Four Titans scored in double figures Saturday afternoon, but the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team fell at home to visiting Western Michigan University by a 75-65 margin from Calihan Hall.

Junior forward Brianne Cohen led Detroit Mercy (4-6) with 17 points and seven rebounds, while senior Rosanna Reynolds tallied her eighth double-digit effort of the season with 16 points. Junior Nicole Urbanick added 15 points and sophomore Lola Ristovski posted a season-high 10 points off the bench for the Titans.

Detroit Mercy scored eight of the first 12 points of the game, jumping out to an 8-4 lead just three minutes into the contest. It was a back-and-forth first quarter with the lead changing twice and the game being tied four different occasions as the Titans trailed 16-13 after one quarter. Kelsey Mitchell had four blocks in the first quarter alone, setting a single-game career-high in the first 10 minutes of the contest.

Urbanick made all three of her 3-pointers in the first half and two in the second quarter, the second cutting the Broncos lead to 26-25 with 3:29 left before halftime. Urbanick then converted on a lay-up with 1:00 left in the quarter for the final bucket of the first half as Detroit Mercy trailed at the break, 35-30.

The Titans came out hot in the third quarter, scoring the first seven points of the frame -- on a jumper, 3-pointer and lay-up by Cohen -- forcing Western Michigan into a timeout. The 7-0 run gave Detroit Mercy a 37-35 lead.

WMU came back to regain the lead and the teams traded buckets throughout much of the third quarter. Cohen scored nine points in the third quarter, but Detroit Mercy trailed after three, 56-46.

Despite WMU opening the fourth quarter with a three ball, the Titans were undeterred and got off to a strong start to chip away at the lead. Reynolds took over on both ends, turning a steal into a fast-break lay-up and then stealing the ball again and finding a wide-open Kelsey Mitchell for a lay-up to capitalize a 9-0 run that cut the WMU lead to 59-55 with 6:01 remaining.

Detroit Mercy kept the game within five and seven points for the next few minutes and were within six points, 70-64, with 1:26 left in the game after an easy Urbanick lay-up, but the Titans were called for a couple of close fouls in the final minutes and the Broncos hit their free throws down the stretch.

The Titans had the advantage in fast-break points (11-2) and also out-shot WMU in the game with a 43.5 shooting clip. It was the fifth game this season that the Titans have shot 40 percent or better from the floor. WMU had 46 rebounds to Detroit Mercy's 31 and held the advantage in second-chance points, 21-7.

Cohen and Haleigh Ristovski each led the team with seven rebounds each. Haleigh Ristovski had a team-high four assists.
