DETROIT (2/3/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team is off to its best start in Horizon League play since the 2012-13 season and hits the second part of the conference schedule on Thursday, when the Titans visit Cleveland State for a 5:30 p.m. contest against the Vikings. The game is set to be streamed live on ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN applications.
The game at Cleveland State is a homecoming of sorts for first-year Detroit head coach
Bernard Scott, who spent the previous five seasons as an assistant coach for the Vikings. Detroit won its first game against Cleveland State this season, 82-68, at home on Jan. 4.
Detroit is 3-1 in Horizon League road games so far this year. The Titans won their first three road league contests, before falling at Green Bay in the most recent outing on Saturday. Cleveland State (4-15, 1-8 HL) has won just one of nine Horizon League games this year.

Haleigh Ristovski leads the Horizon League in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4). She led the HL and ranked 11th in the nation last year in the same category. She has 35 assists to 9 turnovers (3.9 ratio) in nine HL contests.
• Rosanna Reynold's nine assists vs. Oakland tied a career-high. She is third in the league with 4.8 assists per game and is second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1).
• Detroit has three players in the top-12 of scoring in Reynolds (fourth, 16.0 ppg), Urbanick (eighth, 15.4 ppg) and Cohen (12th, 13.1 ppg).
• The Titans have scored 70 or more points in seven of nine Horizon League games this season.
Titans Fall at Green BayDetroit held the Phoenix to 58 points, which was the season low allowed to a Division I opponent, but the Titans dropped their first Horizon League road contest of the season on Saturday, 58-36.
Rosanna Reynolds tallied 14 points to lead the Titans, while
Nicole Urbanick scored 10 points, including her 100th career 3-pointer.
Junior
Haleigh Ristovski finished with team-best totals of seven rebounds and two blocks, while
Lola Ristovski and
Haleigh Ristovski each dished out two assists for the Titans. It was Detroit's first Horizon League road loss of the season.
Third Titan Reaches 100 Career Triples This YearSophomore guard
Nicole Urbanick became the third Titan to reach 100 career triples this season when she reached the century mark in Detroit's game at Green Bay. Urbanick also became the fastest player in Detroit history to reach 100 triples, doing so in just 46 contests (2.2 made per game).
Rosanna Reynolds and
Haleigh Ristovski reached the plateau earlier this season. The trio were the 12th, 13th and 14th players in team history to surpass the plateau.
Urbanick ranks 12th in the nation in 3-pointers made per game (3.1) and is 15th in total 3-pointers made (61). She leads the Horizon League in both of those categories. Urbanick already ranks eighth all-time in single-season history with her 61 makes this year. Senee Shearer has the all-time mark in a single season with 97.
Scouting Cleveland StateThe Vikings have lost four straight and are winners in just one of their last 10 games. Cleveland State's only victory in Horizon League play came against Youngstown State on Jan. 16. The Vikings are in the middle of a four-game homestand. CSU has given up 80 points or more in the past three contests, including 93 in a loss to Wright State in its last outing. Cleveland State is 3-6 at home this year.
Freshman Ashanti Abshaw has started all 19 games and leads the team with 19.6 points per game. Abshaw also leads the squad in rebounds per game at 8.4. Sophomore Khayla Livingston is second on the squad at 11.8 points per game and is making 41.7 percent of 3-pointers this year. Junior guard Brooke Smith is swiping 3.2 steals per game for CSU, while sophomore Shadae Bosley records 1.1 blocks per contest for the Vikings. The team is scoring 60.6 points per game, while shooting 34.7 percent. CSU gives up 68.9 points per contest and allows 44 percent shooting from its opponents.
All-Time SeriesThe Titans lead the all-time series with the Vikings, 37-15, which includes a 13-12 record in road games with the Vikings. Detroit earned an 82-68 victory over CSU on Jan. 4 for its first Horizon League victory of the season. The Titans have won the last two with the Vikings and six of the last 10. Detroit dropped the last meeting in Cleveland, falling 71-65 last season at the Wolstein Center on Jan. 17, 2015.
Last Time Out vs. Cleveland StateDetroit earned the first of its five league wins this season against the Vikings, with an 82-68 victory at home on Jan. 4. It was the first Horizon League win in the career of first-year head coach
Bernard Scott. The Titans led by just three points at halftime, 39-36, but used a 23-9 third quarter advantage to pull away from CSU in the win.
Detroit shot 50 percent from beyond the arc and knocked down a season-high 13 triples. Detroit also shot 43 percent from the floor, including 52 percent in the second half.
Nicole Urbanick hit six 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points for the Titans.
Rosanna Reynolds collected 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while
Brianne Cohen and
Brittney Jackson each scored 12 points off the bench for Detroit.

Following its road game against the Penguins, Detroit hosts UIC on Thursday, Feb. 11 for an 11 a.m. game on Field Trip Day.
