DETROIT (3/13/2016) -- On a cold and rainy day at Titan Field, the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team heated things up offensively, tallying 16 first-half goals on its way to a 22-1 victory over visiting Delaware State on Sunday. Fourteen different Titans scored during the contest with three notching their first Division I markers.
The 21-goal margin is the most by a Titan team in school history. It's the 12th time in team history that Detroit has reached 20 or more goals in a single game. The 22 goals was just one off the school record of 23, which was set last season against Howard. The one goal allowed also matches the school record for the fewest goals given up in a single game.
