RADFORD, Va. -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team won its third-straight game Friday afternoon, dominating play in a 21-3 road victory at Radford University. It was Detroit's second straight game of scoring 20 or more goals.

Three Titans notched hat tricks led by freshmen Lexie Kinmond and Kaitlyn Wandelt, who each finished with five goals. Senior Kylie Birney had four goals pushing her career total to 96, just four shy of becoming the fifth Titan to reach the century mark. Wandelt totaled seven points and also collected a school-record 10 draw controls.

UDM fired 54 shots in the game, 39 of them on net. Both are new school records.

Detroit (3-4) led over Radford, a first-year program, at halftime 12-3 as Birney, Kinmond and Wandelt combined for nine first-half goals. The Titans had the advantage on the draw all day, collecting seven of the first eight draw controls. UDM finished the game with an 18-8 advantage out of the draw circle.

The Titans scored quickly, posting five goals in the first seven minutes of the game to take a 5-0 advantage. Kinmond's third marker of the game made it 8-2 Detroit and the Titans scored the final five markers in the opening half. Wandelt scored three in that span, while sophomore Jordyn Beam assisted on three goals during the stretch.

Detroit scored the final 13 goals of the game overall, finding the back of the net eight times in the second half. Sophomore Jessica Snyder scored her first of the season to open the second half as six different Titans scored in the second half.

Kinmond had a career day with six points, tallying her first career hat trick. Junior Kelsi Pritchard finished with five points on two goals and three assists. Snyder also had five points for the Titans, notching two goals and three helpers. Freshman Morgan Girardi (three points) and senior Michaela Schwartz (two points) also had multi-point games for Detroit and Beam had three assists in the first stanza.

Detroit has allowed just four goals combined in the past two contests, including none in the second half. Freshman Allison McDonough earned her third-straight win in net, while sophomore Jordyn Beam made her second consecutive appearance in goal, turning away the only shot on net that she faced.

Birney and sophomores Emma Mucci and Lauren Webley all finished with two caused turnovers with Detroit racking up 12 on the day. The Titans scooped up 21 ground balls, with Webley and Birney leading the way with three each.

The Titan defense allowed just seven Radford shots. Detroit went 15-for-15 on clear attempts and turned the ball over just six times during the contest.

The red, white and blue has combined to win their last two games by a 43-4 margin and has 55 goals in their past three contests.
