Detroit won the ensuing draw control as Kinmond scooped it up. After two Cincinnati saves, Girardi completed the hat trick to pull the Titans to within two goals, 7-5, and forcing the Bearcats into a timeout.
Cincinnati's Megan Bell won the next three draw controls as Cincinnati scored three-straight goals to take a 10-5 lead. Bell was a force on draw controls all day, collecting 10 of the Bearcats' 15 draw controls. Detroit had chances on net, but couldn't capitalize on the scoring opportunities, as Cincinnati's Meg Gulmi made four saves in the second half.
