EMMITSBURG, Md. (4/3/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team rallied with four-straight goals to begin the second half to erase a halftime deficit and earned its sixth straight victory in a 10-9 triumph over Mount St. Mary's on Sunday.
The Titans (6-4) continued their longest win streak in school streak with the victory and hasn't dropped a contest in nearly one month.
Detroit trailed 6-5 at the break, but scored four straight markers right out of the gate to begin the second half. The Titans scored four goals in a span of 3:56 to take a 9-6 lead early in the second half. Senior
Kylie Birney scored her 100th career goal to begin the stretch, just 46 seconds into the frame. Freshman
Morgan Girardi followed just 50 seconds later before classmate
Lexie Kinmond found the back of the net under a minute later.
Girardi ended the run with her second of the half and 20th of the season to give Detroit a 9-6 lead with 26:06 remaining. The Mount would respond with a goal just 46 seconds later, but neither team would score until Mount St. Mary's pulled to within one goal, 9-8, with 12:28 left.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Wandelt, who tallied a hat trick in the first half, scored her team-leading 26th goal of the season to answer for Detroit as the Titans went back up two goals, 10-8, with 11:45 remaining.
Freshman goalkeeper
Allison McDonough was clutch in net down the stretch, coming up with save after save for the Titans. McDonough, who had 11 saves in the contest, made five stops in the final eight minutes of the game. Mount St. Mary's scored off a Detroit turnover with just 56 seconds left in regulation, but sophomore
Emma Mucci won the ensuing draw control and Detroit ran out the clock to seal the victory.
Mount St. Mary's held the shot advantage in the contest, 28-19. Detroit was 11-for-15 on clears and converted on 2-of-6 free position shots.
Sophomore
Kelsi Pritchard, who scored the first goal of the game, was credited with a team-best three caused turnovers. Wandelt finished the game with five points on four goals and one assist, while also collecting a team-best four draw controls. Kinmond had three points on two goals and one assist and Mucci and McDonough each finished with team highs with three ground balls.

• Birney became the fourth Detroit women's lacrosse student-athlete to reach 100 career markers, joining Emily Boissonneault, Anna Eidem and Corina Mahorn. She is just 10 goals away from tying Mahorn for third all-time.
• McDonough notched her fourth 11-save game or better of her rookie season and earned her sixth-straight victory. She has lowered her goals against average in every single game this season.
• Wandelt's 32 points (26 goals, six assists) this season are the most for a Titan freshman since
Tessa Keuler had 33 points as a freshman in 2012.
• Detroit is out-scoring its opponents 83-35 in the six-game win streak. The Titans haven't allowed more than 10 goals in any game during the stretch.
