DETROIT (5/20/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team has announced a pair of summer camps that will take place in July.
The first is the Titan Elite Instructional Camp, set for July 11-13, on Titan Field. The camp is open to boys ages 13-18 (rising 9th graders - graduating seniors) with prices ranging from $450.00 for the overnight option and $375.00 for just the day participants.
The Titan Elite Instructional Camp is geared towards high school student-athletes who are serious about taking their game to the next level and are looking for a highly competitive environment to improve their game this summer. The camp is directed by the Detroit Mercy coaching staff with assistance from other college coaches and players who are passionate about the game of lacrosse and teaching it the right way.
Check-in for Titan Elite Camp will take place from 10-11 a.m., on Monday, July 11, at the entrance of Shiple Hall on the McNichols campus. There will be two on-field sessions on the first day, three on-field sessions on the second day, and one final on-field session on the last day. There will also be three film sessions, seminars on strength & conditioning, academic support, and performance psychology among other features.
Next up is the Detroit Mercy Prospect Showcase on July 26, which will run from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Summer Prospect Showcase will prepare players and their families for what it takes to play lacrosse at the Division I level. The morning session will feature a position-specific practice, with individualized training for each of the different position groups on the field. Following lunch, there will be presentations from athletic and academic staff members outlining the various elements that go into success in Division I athletics. There will also be a recruiting presentation from the Titan coaching staff, with tips for players and families on how to navigate the recruiting process. In the afternoon, players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in game-like situations.
Coaches from other institutions, both Division I and Division III, from across the NCAA have been invited to attend.
The cost of that camp is $150.00 per camper and is open to all rising seniors (2017 graduates) through rising freshmen (2020 graduates).
All campers must bring their own equipment, copy of waiver and concussion form. Each Prospect must print off and fill out the forms prior to arriving for Prospect Showcase and all the forms are available on the camp sigh-up page by
