DAYTON, Ohio (9/16/16) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw in double overtime at Wright State University on Friday night from Alumni Field in Dayton, Ohio.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Titans surged offensively in the second half by placing six shots on net. The Wright State goalkeeper and defense were up to the task, however, turning away each Detroit Mercy scoring chance.
Detroit Mercy forced the Raiders' defense into tough spots, but could not find the go-ahead goal after accumulating four corners and out-shooting the hosts 5-2 in shots on goal in the second stanza.

Phylisha Drayton poured four shots on net and led the team with five shots overall, with senior
Carley Rice adding three shots in the match.

Marina Manzo played every minute in net and earned a shutout after making seven saves in 110 minutes of action.
The Titans edged Wright State 4-3 in corners and 8-7 in shots on net. The Raiders were forced into tough positions offensively thanks to a strong defensive effort by Detroit Mercy, but earned a 17-12 advantage in total shots.
With the tie, Detroit Mercy moves to 2-5-1 on the season and earns a hard-fought point on the road in conference play. Meanwhile, the Raiders move to 2-6-1 overall and 0-0-1 in conference action.
The Titans return to the pitch Sunday at Eastern Michigan. The tilt is set to begin at 1 p.m. from Scicluna Field in Ypsilanti, Mich.
