James McCann Placed In The Top 10 For The Titans At The Canisius Alumni Classic

Titans Place Third in Canisius Alumni Classic

DETROIT (10/14/17) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team placed third in the Annual Canisius Alumni Classic on Saturday.

This was the fourth consecutive year the Titans have participated in the race.

The Titans totaled 90 points to finish third among the Division I competition in the 8k race held at Delaware Park.

James McCann led the way for the Titans, placing 10th with a time of 26:11, missing his personal best by only four seconds. Next across the line for the Titans and setting a career best with a time of 26:44 was Adam Fraeyman.

Other Titans runners placing in the top 30 were Scott Smith, Greg Ingle and Thomas Mueller, placing 24th, 28th and 30th respectively. 

The race was the final tune-up before the postseason events in the Horizon League Championship and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

The Titans will now get ready for the Horizon League Championship, set for Oct. 28 at the home course of Metro Series rival Oakland University.
