DETROIT (12/1/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will head out to the west coast as the Titans visit No. 25 UCLA on Sunday night.
Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. (EST) at Pauley Pavilion and will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network with Roxy Bernstein and Bill Walton on the call. Fans can also listen to all the action on 910 AM Superstation with the "Voice of the Titans"

The Titans are 1-0 all-time against UCLA as Detroit Mercy recorded one of the classic 12-5 upsets in the NCAA Tournament defeating the Bruins, 56-53, in Indianapolis in 1999.
That game featured seven players who went on to play in the NBA with five from UCLA (Baron Davis, Jerome Moïso, Matt Barnes, Earl Watson, Dan Gadzuric) and two from the Titans (Jermaine Jackson, Desmond Ferguson). Detroit Mercy also had one of the best mid-major players in history in the school's all-time leading scorer Rashad Phillips.
Following the game, the Titans will enjoy a stretch of home cooking as they play nine of their next 11 in the Motor City, including eight in historic Calihan Hall and a game in the brand new Little Caesars Arena.
ALL-TIME VS. RANKED TEAMS
- Detroit Mercy is 20-129 all-time against ranked teams, including dropping its last 25 games against top-25 squads.
- The last time Detroit Mercy defeated a ranked team was on Jan. 10, 2002, when the Titans earned a 63-54 triumph over No. 23/24 Butler in Calihan Hall.
- The Titans are also 4-74 all-time against ranked teams on the road with their last true road win coming back on Feb. 6, 1979, a 64-63 victory at No. 9 Marquette.
- Detroit Mercy did have a neutral site win in this span over a top-25 team as the red, white and blue shocked No. 15/15 UCLA, 56-53, in the 1999 NCAA Tournament.
AGAINST THE PAC-12
- The Titans are 7-9 all-time against current members of the Pac-12, but have dropped four straight to the league.
- The last win was actually against UCLA in the 1999 NCAA Tournament, while the last time Detroit Mercy won a game on the road in the Pac 12 was in 1995, when the Titans claimed the Sun Devil Classic beating Pennsylvania, 77-65, and host Arizona State, 71-66.
REACHING 100
- The Titans reached the 100-point mark for the third time this season with a 131-69 victory over Siena Heights on Nov. 25.
- The Titans also reached 100 in a 116-109 victory over Houston Baptist in overtime and a 105-82 win over UM-Dearborn.
- The 131 points are the fourth most in school history and the most since tallying a school record 135 against CCNY in 1979.
- The 116 points against HBU at the 2K Sports Classic Belmont Subregional broke Belmont's Curb Event Center record for most points.
- Detroit Mercy has now reached 100 points 94 times in its history and the three times in a season is the most since hitting 100 on three occasions during the 1979-80 campaign.
HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
- The Titans currently rank first in the Horizon League and seventh in the nation in scoring offense at 93.7 points per game.
- Detroit Mercy has scored at least 71 points in all seven games, including three 100+point efforts.
- Last season, the Titans hit 80 points 12 times and 90 on five occasions, tying for third in the HL in offense at 77.0 ppg., - 85th in the nation.
LET IT FLY
- Detroit Mercy set a school record hoisting up 43 three-point attempts against Houston Baptist on Nov. 19, nailing 12 of them.
- The previous record was 36 against Dayton in 1991.
- Against Siena Heights, Detroit Mercy was 17-of-28 from behind the arc, just one triple shy of tying the school record of 18 against Milwaukee on Feb. 26, 2000.
- Detroit Mercy leads the Horizon League and is 51st in the country with 9.7 triples per game.
- Last year, the Titans were second in the HL in three-point field goal percentage at 37.2 percent as well as third in the conference with 8.1 treys per game.
GIVE ME THAT
- Detroit Mercy posted 203 steals last year - fourth in the HL at 6.5 per game - and had the thief of the league in Josh McFolley, who topped the conference with 62 total steals - 2.0 steals per game - 35th in the NCAA.
- The Titans just set a school record with 25 steals - while forcing 36 turnovers - against Siena Heights on Nov. 25, and are 11th in the nation with 10.1 steals per game.
CHATMAN ON FIRE
- Redshirt junior Kameron Chatman continued his strong start to the season tallying a career-high 31 points and collecting 10 rebounds with three steals at Fort Wayne.
- It was his fourth 20+-point game of the season as he was a career-best 11-of-15 from the field and 5-of-6 from behind the arc. It was also his second career double-double.
- After scoring just four points against Seattle on Nov. 18, he is averaging 23.5 ppg. and 11.0 rpg., in the last four games, shooting 56.9 percent (36-of-65) overall.
- He is currently leading the team in scoring (19.7) - third in the HL - and rebounding (8.9) - tops in the Horizon League.
TAKING ADVANTAGE
- Detroit Mercy has done a great job at the free throw line this season connecting on 120-of-154 for 77.9 percent, second in the HL and 27th in the country.
- The Titans started the year 18-of-22 at Virginia Tech and were 20-of-23 versus Seattle, 24-of-30 against Houston Baptist, 13-of-15 in the road win at Saint Louis and 20-of-25 their last time out at Fort Wayne
- Some of the top free throw shooters include Corey Allen (24-of-27), Jermaine Jackson Jr. (24-of-25), Josh McFolley (17-of-19) and Roschon Price (13-of-17).
- In fact, Jackson Jr. is 13th in the nation in free throw percentage (96.0%), while Allen is 87th (88.9%).
FRESHMAN RECORDS
- Freshman Jermaine Jackson Jr. has already established a pair of Titan freshman records with 13 assists and nine steals, achieved in the win over Siena Heights.
- He broke the Titan freshman record of 10 assists by Bill Wood, who did it twice during the 1986-87 season, while the freshman steal record is believed to be five accomplished six times since 1981.
I SEE YOU CA
- Sophomore Corey Allen had a slow start to the season on offense, but he broke out in a big way at the 2K Sports Classic subregional at Belmont.
- Against Seattle, he tallied 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting with a pair of 3-pointers.
- In the consolation game against Houston Baptist, he hit his first three triples and ended the game with a career-high and Curb Event Center record 39 points, surpassing the 33 he had at home against Fort Wayne last season.
- Allen - who was named to the All-Tournament Team - was a career-best 12-of-20 from the field and 7-of-13 from long range to go with five rebounds and career-tying five assists.
- The 39 points were the most by a Titan since teammate Jaleel Hogan had 39 in a road win at Oakland last year.
- He netted 22 points against Siena Heights, where he was 9-of-10 from the field, and just scored 11 at Fort Wayne.
- On the season, he is second on the team in scoring at 17.6 points per game shooting 48.8 percent from the field, 45.9 percent from three and 88.9 percent at the free throw line to go with 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
MCFOLLEY LEADS THE WAY
- Junior Josh McFolley came into the Saint Louis game averaging just 8.0 points, but he broke out with 14 in the first half and finished with a season-high 22 in the road victory.
- He just totaled 15 points against Siena Heights connecting on another three triples and tying his career high with five steals and just scored 12 at Fort Wayne.
- It was the eighth 20-point game in McFolley's career and after nailing three 3-pointers his last time out, he now has 124 as a Titan, just 14 away from 10th in school history.
KAM'S THE MAN
- The Titans needed everyone's help to get the overtime victory over Houston Baptist and redshirt junior Kameron Chatman did his part posting his first career double-double with 22 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
- His previous high in rebounds was nine as a freshman at Michigan against Syracuse, while it was the most boards by a Titan since Chris Jenkins had 16 against Fort Wayne last year.
- At Saint Louis, he posted 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals, but his biggest play was the game-winning shot with just one second left on the clock.
- Against Siena Heights, he had 23 points and just missed another double-double ending with nine rebounds, three steals and two assists.
BANG, BANG
- Sophomore Corey Allen and junior Josh combined to post 149, 3-pointers last season, which ranks as the 16th best among returning duo three-point specialist entering the 2017-18 season.
- Allen was third in the league and 78th in the nation with 2.60 three-point field goals per game, and his 78 triples on the season were third in the conference and eighth in the school record book.
- McFolley was second on the Titans and fifth in the HL with 2.3, 3-pointers per game as he connected on a career-best 71 triples, 13th in school history.
GETTING SHOTS UP
- The Titans have taken at least 70 field goals in four of their seven games, including going 40-of-83 against Houston Baptist, 40-of-75 versus UM-Dearborn and 51-of-86 versus Siena Heights.
- The 51 field goals are the most since putting in 59 against CCNY on Feb. 10, 1979.
A HELPING HAND
- Detroit Mercy has registered at least 21 assists three times this season, including 22 against Houston Baptist - a day after having just four versus Seattle - and 36 in the triumph over Siena Heights.
- The 36 assists were the most since posting a school record 45 against Canisius in 1978.
- The Titans rank second in the Horizon League and 68th in the nation with 16.4 assists per game.
JALEEL REACHES 1,000
- With his second basket of the game his last time out at Fort Wayne, senior Jaleel Hogan became the 41st Titan in school history to post 1,000 career points.
- Hogan enters the game with 1,008, which ranks 38th in school history.
PICKING YOUR POCKET
- Junior Josh McFolley is second on the team, third in the Horizon League and 67th in the nation with 2.14 steals per game.
- With three steals at Fort Wayne his last time out, he now has three games on the year with at least three steals, including tying his career high with five against Siena Heights.
- In his career, he has recorded a steal in 53 of his 68 career games, including 22 multi-steal contests and 13 with at least three takeaways.
- McFolley led the conference in steals per game (2.00) and total steals (62), ranking 26th and 35th in the NCAA, respectively, last season.
- His 112 career steals has him approaching top 10 status in school history.
THE PRINCE OF DETROIT MERCY
- Graduate senior Roschon Prince has had a nice start to his Titan career scoring in double figures twice with 11 points against UM-Dearborn and Houston Baptist.
- He has grabbed at least five boards in three of the seven games with a season-high six against Seattle and is 14-of-26 from the field (53.8%) and 13-of-17 (76.5%) at the line.
