Men’s Lacrosse Welcomes Jacksonville On Thursday, Will Host Kid’s Clinic After The Game

DETROIT (2/22/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team will return home for its fourth game in 12 days as the Titans will take on the Jacksonville Dolphins on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Noon at Ultimate Soccer Arenas.

The game will also feature a free kid's clinic after the game for children ages 6-14. Admission is $10 per person to the contest.

The Titans dropped a heartbreak their last time out falling to Mercer, 10-8, in a game played at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Five different Titans found the back of the net led by sophomore Matthew Vangalen's hat trick. Senior goalie Jason Weber made 16 saves in the game and had six ground balls.

Jacksonville is 0-2 on the year losing a tough 13-12 game to Lehigh and a 17-1 decision to nationally-ranked Marquette, both at home.

Tickets can be purchased by clicking here, at Ultimate Soccer Arenas or by calling Director of Ticket Operations & Sales Justin Hairston at 313-993-1700 ext. 7301.

ALL-TIME VS. JACKSONVILLE
Detroit Mercy is 1-2 all-time against Jacksonville as the Dolphins and Titans were MAAC rivals at one time with Jacksonville spending three years in the conference from 2011-13.

All three prior games have been decided by two goals or less with one overtime game. The Dolphins won the first meeting, 10-8, at home in 2011 and the Titans came back with a 9-8 victory in 2012 on Titan Field. In the last game between the programs, Jacksonville was able to squeak out a 9-8 win in overtime at home.

AGAINST THE SOCON
The Titans are 11-18 all-time against current teams from the Southern Conference, including 4-1 versus VMI, 4-2 against Mercer, 1-2 against Jacksonville, 0-3 versus Air Force and 1-7 against Bellarmine, two more future opponents on the schedule.

AT ULTIMATE SOCCER ARENAS
The Titans are 6-4 all-time when they play in their inside arena in Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac.
