DAYTON, Ohio (9/30/2017) -- Senior forward Tyler Moorman scored his seventh goal of the season, but the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 match on the road at Wright State on Saturday from Alumni Field.

Detroit Mercy (5-3-2, 2-2 Horizon League) was playing its fifth game out of the past six away from Detroit. Wright State improved to 3-1 in league play with the win.

Moorman scored another early goal for the Titans, burying a goal in the fourth minute off an assist from sophomore Jake Reitzloff. Wright State evened the score 1-1 in the 27th minute and that score stood at the half. Each team had three shots in the opening 45 minutes.

The Raiders (6-4-1, 3-1 HL) went ahead in the 63rd minute, 2-1, off a header and added their third goal late in the contest in the 85th minute. Wright State held an 8-6 advantage in shots for the game, while the Titans had six corner kicks to WSU's three. Five yellow cards were issued, one of them to the Titans.

Spencer Steinwascher had a shot just 85 seconds into the match.
• The Titans struck early in the game, with Moorman scoring off Reitzloff's fourth assist of the season.
• Moorman's next shot went wide in the 23rd minute of the game.
• Wright State evened the score 1-1 in the 27th minute off a free kick.
• It was the lone shot on goal for Detroit Mercy in the opening 45 minutes.
• Shots were even between the two teams in the half, 3-3. Moorman had two shots.

Second Half
Tyler Hughes had a shot on goal early in the second half in the 49th minute.
• Detroit Mercy earned two corners in the 50th and 53rd minute.
• Wright State took a 2-1 lead in the 63rd minute on a header.
• After WSU added another goal in the 85th minute, Detroit Mercy had two final shots.
Matt DeVries pushed a shot wide in the 86th minute.
• Reitzloff also had a rip in the final seconds of the match.

Titan News & Notes
• Moorman's goal in the fourth minute was Detroit Mercy's fourth in the first 10 minutes of a match in 2017 (Moorman has three of those).
• Moorman tied Spiro Pliakos for the team lead with his seventh goal of the year.
• Moorman also tied his career-high for goals in a season with seven (he also had seven in 2015) and set a new career-high in points with 16.
• Reitzloff has an assist in three-straight matches and has a team-high four assists on the season
Mohamad Miri started his first collegiate match for the Titans.
• Detroit Mercy has allowed just seven shots on goal in its past three matches.
• The Titans also only allowed eight looks total, the third-lowest total of the season.
• It was Detroit Mercy's first loss at Wright State since the 2008 season.
