DETROIT (1/12/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field program completed their first meet of the new year on Friday evening. The Jack Skoog Invitational was held at Central Michigan University and featured CMU, Davenport, Alma and Oakland.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE MEET:
The Titans placed eight competitors into the top 5 during the Jack Skoog Invitational. Senior
Ben Kendell and freshman
Joseph Lietzow were the highest placing Titans on Friday night, earning second place in the mile and second place in the high jump, respectively. Freshman
Phillip Robie took third in the high jump and fifth in the long jump. Freshman
Jacob Spiaser and graduate student
Jacob Whitting placed fourth and fifth in the pole vault.
Andrew Heitzhaus placed fifth in the 800 meter.
Zach Arnold, Robie, Heitzhaus and Whitting earned fourth place in the 4x400m for the Titans.
