BALTIMORE (1/16/2018) -- The men's lacrosse season is less than a month away and preseason prognostications are starting to be released all over the country with Inside Lacrosse releasing its preseason poll.
 
Detroit Mercy was picked to finish third in the seven-team league behind only defending champion Monmouth and Marist. Quinnipiac, Canisius, Siena and Manhattan were selected to finish fourth through seventh.
 
The top four teams will make the MAAC championship, which will be held at Monmouth from May 3-5.
 
Last season, the Titans tied for third place and secured a playoff berth for the sixth time in their eight years as a member of the MAAC.
 
Detroit Mercy returns their top three scorers a season ago in junior Matthew Vangalen (47p, 26g, 21a), senior Alec Gilhooly (26p, 19g, 7a) and sophomore Seth Mendell (26p, 18g, 8a) along with the top defensive midfielder in the league in senior Charlie Hayes and entire back line in seniors Bryan Matney and Will Kane, juniors Austin Ross and Sam Horton and sophomore LSM Alex Akins.
