DETROIT (1/20/18) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team is heading home from Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a few victories  as the Titans went 5-1-1 at the Fort Wayne Duals. 
The Titans defeated Butler, Evansville, IUPUI, Morehead State and NKU, tied Oakland and fell to Valparaiso. 
HIGHLIGHT OF THE MEET: 
Jacob Spiaser set a school record in the pole vault with his mark of 4.10m/13-5.25. The Titans placed nine runners in the top-five in their respective competitions, which includes six top-three finishes for the red, white and blue. 
Darrius Scott was the event winner for the Titans as he placed first in the 200-meter dash with a career-best 22.74 time to register his first event win at the collegiate level. Senior 
Ben Kendell placed second in the mile in 4:15.77 and also claimed second in the 3000 meter with a time of 8:29.27.  
Phillip Robie placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.54 and third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.76 meters.
