How Did You Find Your Way To Detroit Mercy?
"Coach Davis, he's a good coach and great friend. I know him because I played in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. He coached at Texas Southern and I played at Mississippi Valley State. He knew who I was and knew what was coming on, so I asked him, 'Can I be a part of the program?', and that's how it happened."
What Was It Like Playing Against Coach Davis and Now Playing For Him?
"It's pretty good. I knew that he was a great coach because he owned the league. They won every year and they go to the NCAA tournament. I wanted to see how it feels to be on a winning team."
What Did You Know About Detroit Mercy Before You Got Here?
"I knew a little because of Ray McCallum. I used to watch him a lot. I knew about him and what he did here. That was probably the only thing I knew about Detroit Mercy."
Your 'Keep Chasing' Tattoo On Your Arms, What Does That Mean To You?
"To tell people never give up. Just keep going with your dream, keep chasing whatever you've got going."
What's The Transition Been Like For Everyone And How Exciting Is It To Be Here?
It's very exciting. We all bond together and it feels like a family already. I think we will be a very good team. We're starting to know what each other likes to do and it's getting better and better every day."
What Do You Like So Far About The City Of Detroit?
"I've been downtown and I have been to the University of Michigan. I went to go see one of my guys, Jordan Poole, who plays for Michigan.
How Do You Know Jordan?
"We played against each other in high school. I had a lot of points in high school and we got pretty cool afterward."
What's Your Biggest Strength And Your Biggest Weakness?
"My biggest strength is probably scoring the ball. I have always been able to score. That's all I have been taught to do since I was little. Probably my weakness and something I want and to get better at is defense. I want to be a super lockdown defender. That's something I work on and try to get better every day."
What Do You Like About Scoring?
"I just think, since I was little, I had to do something to have people know I have the ability to play. I told one of my trainers, Chris McHenry, that I wanted to be the leading scorer in the state or in the world, so he was like, 'We have to get working.' So I worked out every day after practice and after games. I worked out every day and I was the leading scorer in the state as a senior with 37.6 points per game."
