Women's Basketball Enjoys Locker Room Renovations

DETROIT (10/23/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team is nearing the start of the 2018-19 campaign and will also enjoy new upgrades and renovations to their locker room inside Calihan Hall. The final touches and renovations were just recently finished and completed.

Several donors were integral in the raising of money for the renovation of the locker room including Eli Holman, Mark Misko, Chuck & Joann Raeder and Sue Kruszewski Hardy, among others. The upgrades include new locker doors, new signage and logos, refurbished storage and other appliances and items.

"This is exciting for our players and our staff," head coach Bernard Scott said. "We wanted our locker room to be a place that our current student-athletes could go hang out and relax. We got that in this renovation. It will also help when it comes to recruiting. To have a space like this at the mid-major level is a huge resource."

"We have a great group of donors that made this project possible. They know how important facilities are and their willingness to donate to help get this done is really special. Our program is lucky to have people that care about giving our student-athletes a great experience at Detroit Mercy. We can't thank them enough for their generosity."

The Titans are preparing for their 42nd season of women's basketball. Detroit Mercy has five newcomers and five letter-winners returning in 2018-19, its fourth under head coach Bernard Scott.
