INDIANAPOLIS (12/31/2018) -- Off another pair of strong performances and helping guide the Titans to a 2-0 start in Horizon League play, University of Detroit Mercy guard
Antoine Davis was named the conference's Freshman of the Week on Monday.
It is the fourth time this season he has garnered the award to go along with once being touted the Player of the Week. He was also tabbed the College Sports Madness Horizon League Player of the Week today for the second time this season.
Davis averaged 22.0 points, 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds in the road wins over Youngstown State and Cleveland State.
He started league action with a game-high 27 points against the Penguins, hitting seven 3-pointers with three boards and three assists and then scored 17 points with a game-high six assists and three caroms against the Vikings.
He is still third in the nation in scoring at 25.4 points and leads the nation with 68 triples in just 14 games, 4.8 per game, as he is on pace to challenge Stephen Curry's NCAA freshman three-point record of 122 in 2005-06.
Davis and the Titans will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 3, when they face the defending Horizon League champion Wright State Raiders at Calihan Hall in a 7 p.m. tip.
