DETROIT (3/2/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team hits the road for the third-straight weekend, preparing for non-conference opponents Butler and Cincinnati on Saturday and Monday, respectively.
Game time against Butler in Indianapolis is set for 12 p.m. Saturday with the Titans playing Cincinnati in a 3 p.m. contest Monday. Live statistics are available for Saturday's contest against the Bulldogs, while Titan fans can watch Monday's game live via a live stream through Cincinnati's website.
Detroit Mercy (1-2) is coming off its first victory of the 2018 season on Sunday, a 16-8 triumph at American University. The Titans allowed just two goals in the first half and scored eight goals in both halves in the win.

Spray Named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week
Senior defender
Taylor Spray (Winter Springs, Fla.) earned her first career Defensive Player of the Week accolade after receiving the honor on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Spray tallied three first-half caused turnovers to help propel Detroit Mercy to a 16-8 victory at American University. Spray added a ground ball in the contest.
Spray's the second defender to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors this season after
Lauren Webley earned the honor on Feb. 13 with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. The Titans have earned the honor in two of three weeks this season.
Wandelt Second-Fastest to 100
Midfielder
Kaitlyn Wandelt (Sayville, N.Y.) became the second-fastest player to reach 100 career points in Titan history, tallying six points at American University to hit 100 points on the nose in career game No. 29. Only former Titan standout Emily Boissonneault reached 100 points faster, tallying 103 points in 25 games during the first two seasons of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse.
Wandelt, who missed much of last season due to an injury, has scored 85 goals and notched 15 assists in 100 games. Former Titan Anna Eidem surpassed 100 points in game No. 30, while current Titan attacker
Lexie Kinmond went past 100 points last season in career game No. 31.
Scouting Butler
The Bulldogs are 0-3 in their second season, falling to Michigan, (2-12), Louisville (4-20) and Central Michigan (9-19) so far this season. It's Butler's second home game of the 2018 season. Detroit Mercy hosted Butler last season at home, winning 20-9 on Feb. 18, 2017.
Haley Hallenbeck leads the squad in goals (4) and points (6) after the first three games of the year. Morgan Paige adds three goals. Christina Soderquist leads the team with 11 draw controls on the season, while Amanda Rumsey (25.6 SV%, 11 SV) has started three games in net, but has split time in goal with Haley Rayburn (38.7 SV%, 12 SV).
Scouting Cincinnati
Detroit Mercy earned a thrilling 15-14 victory over Cincinnati at home last season, indoors in Pontiac. After a season-opening loss to Louisville, Cincinnati has reeled off three-straight victories, topping Gardner-Webb (20-9), Winthrop (12-10) and Ohio State (17-12). The Bearcats are 1-1 at home this season.
McKenna Rushford and Monica Borzillo lead the team in scoring with 23 and 22 points, respectively. Rushford has a team-best 16 goals, seven of them free-position tallies. Borillo has 14 goals and eight assists for the Bearcats. Taylor Gysin is third on the team with seven goals. Amanda Donovan leads the squad with 18 draw controls. As a team, Cincinnati has 46 caused turnovers and 60 draw controls after four games.
In net, Giuliana Durso has started all four games and sports a 44.4 save percentage with 36 saves.
New Year, New League
The Titans are competing out of a new conference for the 2018 season with the Titans joining the Southern Conference (
SoCon) for the inaugural season of women's lacrosse in the league. It's the third conference for Detroit Mercy after stints with the National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) from 2010-12 and theÂ
ASUNÂ Conference (2013-17).
The Titans made four-straightÂ
ASUNÂ Championship games from 2013-16 and was the first time inÂ
ASUNÂ history to defeat Jacksonville, knocking them off in the semifinals of theÂ
ASUNÂ Tournament in 2016.
