DETROIT (4/7/18) -- The University of Detroit Mercy softball team was on the wrong side of two losses in a doubleheader against Wright State on Saturday afternoon from Buysse Ballpark.
On the day,
Jordan Manno reached base twice.
Alyssa Lang had two hits, and
Lindsay Brandon hit her first career homerun.
DETROIT MERCY 0 - WRIGHT STATE 9
Wright State jumped on top of the Titans early, scoring a run in the first after capitalizing off of a few errors by the Detroit Mercy infield.
The Raiders would tack on two more in the top of the third, before hitting four home runs in the final four innings, giving them a 9-0 victory in game one of the doubleheader.
Liz Murphy started the game for the Titans, going 4.2 innings, scattering five hits, six runs (five earned), two walks and four strikeouts.
Brandon would come in as a relief pitcher, throwing 2.1 innings while surrendering four hits, three earned runs, and striking out three.
DETROIT MERCY 1 - WRIGHT STATE 5
Ashley Mauser would get the start on the mound in game two of the doubleheader. The Raiders would again jump out to an early lead, scoring a run in the top of the first.
Wright State would tack on an additional run in the top of the fourth and fifth, extending its lead to 3-0.
In the bottom half of the fifth inning, Brandon would hit a bomb to right center field, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
The Raiders added two more runs in the top of the seventh.
Mauser would be assessed the loss, pitching seven innings and striking out 10, while scattering 10 hits, five runs (four earned) with four walks.

The Titans will prepare for the #MetroSeries against Oakland University, which is set to be played as a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 10. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. on the campus of Oakland.
