Meredith Moore set a single-game school record with seven assists and both Moore and fellow midfielder
Kaitlyn Wandelt each recorded nine points as the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team powered past Howard, 23-10, on Sunday.
The Titans (6-6 overall) out-scored Howard 11-2 in the second half of Sunday's victory, tying the single-game school record in goals (23) in the process. Detroit Mercy also set a school record for total points (38), while finishing just one assist (15) shy of the school-record for helpers (16).
The Titans went on an 8-0 run to open the second half to take command of the contest. Detroit Mercy out-shot the Bison, 41-21, and used a 12-2 advantage on draw controls in the second half to help take command of the game.
Wandelt and Moore became the first Titans to record nine points in a game since the 2014 season. Moore finished with two goals and a school-record seven helpers, assisting on five goals in the second half alone. Wandelt had a career-high nine points on five goals and a career-best four assists for the Titans.

Detroit Mercy dominated the draw circle in the second half and secured 21 draw controls on the day. Moore had a career-best five draw controls, senior defenders

Fenney, Ellis, Moore and
Jessica Snyder all had two caused turnovers. Moore had a team-high four ground balls, with Mucci adding three GB for the Titans. Senior

Allison McDonough and Snyder all each had two ground balls.
McDonough and Johnson split time in net with the pair combining to make seven saves.
Detroit Mercy got off to a great start, scoring the first six goals of the contest in just over five minutes. The Titans and Howard traded goals for much of the rest of the first half as Detroit Mercy led at the halftime break, 12-8.
The Titans would score five goals in the opening four minutes of the second half, however, to take a 17-8 lead. Detroit Mercy then scored three more to complete a 9-0 run and take a commanding 20-8 advantage midway through the second frame. Detroit Mercy scored three more in the remaining minutes for its season-high goal total of 23.
Detroit Mercy went 7-of-12 on free-position opportunities and also was 14-of-16 on clears.

• Moore's seven assists topped the school record of six, set by Tessa Keuler against Cincinnati in 2015.
• The nine-point games by Moore and Wandelt are just the ninth and 10th time its happened in school history.
• They are the first pair of teammates with nine-point games in school history and its the second-point total from a pair of teammates in school history after Anna Eidem (school-record 11 points) and Emily Boissonneault (eight points) totaled 19 points on March 28, 2009 against Presbyterian.
• The nine points are also the most by a Titan since Erin Campbell tallied nine points against Kennesaw State in 2014.
• The Titans tied the school mark in goals in a game (23); Detroit Mercy also scored 23 in a win over Howard in 2015.
• Cantelon scored her first career marker on a free-position goal, just after McManus scored her first career goal.
• Wandelt's previous career-best in points was seven, done four different times across her career.
• Girardi has three-straight games of five points and five games total of five points in 2018.
• It was the first career hat trick for Leszczak and second-straight game of three points.
• Detroit Mercy had 23 goals and 15 assists for its 38 points and topped the school record of 37 points against Radford in 2016.
