DETROIT (6/29/2018) -- Former University of Detroit Mercy forward and All-Horizon League standout
Juwan Howard Jr. is back in the NBA as he has signed to play with the New York Knicks Summer League team.
Howard Jr. was part of the 16-man Knicks roster that will be coached by
Mike Miller, the 2017-18 G League Coach of the Year, and will play in the Las Vegas Summer League. All the games will be held at the Thomas & Mack and Cox Pavilion from July 7-17.
This is Howard Jr.'s third trip to the NBA Summer League as he played with the Miami Heat in 2015 and 2016.
Howard Jr. has also played professionally overseas the last three years in Spain, Mexico and Luxembourg
He played at Detroit Mercy from 2012-2015 and was a two-time All-Horizon League Second Team honoree and two-time NABC All-District Second Team selection, helping the Titans reach the NIT in 2013. He tallied 1,404 points, good for 18th in school history, including 18.2 points as a junior and 17.5 points per game as a senior, second in the Horizon League.

Dave DeBusschere played six years with New York, helping the team to a pair of NBA championships in 1970 and 1973. He later became the Knicks Director of Basketball Operations and was the man in charge of drafting Patrick Ewing in 1985, which helped the franchise rise back to a championship contender in the 90's.
