Titan Athletic Communications Earns Top Spot in CoSIDA Publication Contest

Fencing Poster Named Best in the Nation Among Winter/Spring Submissions in Division I

DETROIT (6/18/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics was recently recognized nationally in CoSIDA's Publications & Digital Design Contest, claiming the top spot among other Division I schools in a category recognizing the top athletic posters in the country.

James Tinkey, an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications & Graphic Design, was bestowed with the honor, earning first place in the "Winter/Spring Posters" category for Division I schools in the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) contest for his men's and women's fencing poster for 2017-18.

Tinkey's poster was ahead of other submissions from schools such as Kentucky, West Virginia, Kansas State, Kansas and Oral Roberts, who rounded out the top-eight in the category. CoSIDA recognizes the best of the best each year, including media guides, programs, posters, game notes, infographics and other digital media publications.

  6.  University of Kansas-Swimming & Diving (Kansas Athletics Communications)
  7.  Oral Roberts University-Baseball (Blake Freeland, Scottt Slarks, Jarrett Hardwick)
  8.  Kansas State University-Women's Tennis (Ron Cook, Chris Brown)
