BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (8/8/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team had one more tune-up before the regular season as the Titans went on the road for an exhibition match-up with Bowling Green on Wednesday.
Despite 13 total saved from the Titan goalkeepers, the Titans were upended in the contest, 2-0.
The friendly was played with three periods of 30 minutes with the teams switching sides in the final frame.
Detroit Mercy used the final preseason game to get some extra time for a lot of the newcomers.
Senior goalie
Marina Manzo made nine saves in net, while senior
Sarah Hirschmann had four. Junior
Casey Couturier led the offense with a pair of shots, while freshmen
Hannah Alexis and
Julie Ann Piechocki had one apiece.
The Titans will now have nine days to get ready for the 2018 season as the red, white and blue opens the campaign at Western Michigan on Aug. 17.
