DETROIT (10-25-26) - Freshman
Evangeline Lulgjuraj made the most of her first career start in goal, making three saves while facing 16 shots to record a shutout win, while freshman
Gabriella Gojcaj added the game-winning goal as Detroit Mercy blanked Wright State, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon in home finale action at Titan Field. Senior
Leila Lanier and sophomore
Brogan Hughes assisted on Gojcaj's goal.
In the 18th minute, Hughes sent a long ball from the right side into the box to Lanier, who headed it back to Gojcaj, who connected on a strike, giving Detroit Mercy (5-10-2, 3-6-1 HL) a 1-0 lead. The Titans outshot the Wright State (7-8-3, 5-3-2 HL) 12-2 in the half.
The Raiders pressed the attack in the second half and flipped the script, outshooting UDM 11-4. However, Lulgjuraj made all three saves while graduate student
Katy Layman cleared a shot off the goal line to keep WSU off the board as the Titans secured the victory.
Detroit Mercy closes out the 2026 campaign with a Metro Series Halloween showdown at arch-rival Oakland on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
