CLEVELAND, Ohio (1/31/2019) -- University of Detroit Mercy senior guard Lola Ristovski tied her career-high with 17 points and freshman forward Alex Burr sank all five field goal attempts and added a career-best 10 points, but the Titans fell at Cleveland State, 67-51, on Thursday from the Wolstein Center.

Ristovski sank two 3-pointers and all five shots from the free throw line, scoring eight points in the fourth quarter to lead the Titans with 17 points. It was the most points for Ristovski since her freshman season when the guard scored 17 points in a home contest at Valparaiso on Feb. 13, 2016. Burr scored all 10 points in the second half for the Titans, scoring in double figures for the first time in her Titan career. Burr was 5-for-5 from the floor and added five caroms in 11 minutes of play.

Senior guard Brittney Jackson added six points and five assists, while freshman Sophia DiMilia had a team-high six rebounds.

Titan freshmen scored eight of Detroit Mercy's 10 points in the opening quarter. DiMilia scored the first two Detroit Mercy buckets of the game. Freshman Paige Bellman added two field goals and scored four points in the opening frame and the Titan defense was strong early as the red, white and blue trailed after one by one point, 11-10.

Ristovski opened the second quarter with a 3-pointer, but the Titans went cold on the offensive end for the majority of the second as they would trail at the halftime break, 31-17. Ristovski was nearly into double figures early in the third after connecting on a pair of jumpers in the first half of the quarter. Burr scored the final four points of the third quarter as Detroit Mercy trailed 51-31 after three.

The Titans opened the fourth quarter on a quick 7-0 run to pull within 13, 51-38. Detroit Mercy scored three times in the first 45 seconds of the stanza. Jackson opened the fourth quarter with a lay-up and after a Vikings turnover, Ristovski drilled her second triple of the game from the wing. Burr then followed with a bucket down low off a feed from Jackson as Detroit had three field goals in a span of 45 seconds.

Ristovski and Burr did much of the damage in the fourth quarter for the Titans with the duo combining for 14 of Detroit Mercy's 20 points in the stanza. The Titans got to within a dozen points, 59-47, with 3:33 left after Ristovski converted on a tough lay-up and then made the ensuing free throw after she was fouled on the shot. Cleveland State would keep pace with the Titans down the stretch to close out the game.

Ristovski was 5-of-10 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. She added two rebounds in 25 minutes. As a team, Detroit Mercy was 21-for-54 (38.9 percent) from the field, but made just 6-of-16 from the foul line. The Titans had 34 rebounds and added nine assist and four blocks.

Detroit Mercy forced the Vikings into 18 turnovers. The Titans had 20 turnovers of their own, but just five after the halftime break.

Mariah Miller led Cleveland State (8-13, 5-5 Horizon League) with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
