DETROIT (10/10/2019) -- Both Titan basketball teams started official practice in the last two weeks, but on Thursday night, it was time to have some fun as the University of Detroit Mercy hosted Hoop Night In The D inside historic Calihan Hall.
It is the unofficial start of the season as both the Detroit Mercy men's and women's basketball teams were introduced to the crowd.
The night featured games and prizes for those in attendance as well as games and skills competition from the men's and women's basketball teams.
The night ended with both the teams putting on team scrimmages and giving everyone just a little taste of what they will see in 2019-20.
The season starts on Nov. 5 as the women host Jesuit-rival Loyola, while the men will open up on Nov. 10 at NC State.
