DETROIT (10/3/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team continues its non-league stretch, visiting Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday in a 7 p.m. ET evening match from Hefner Soccer Complex in Fort Wayne, Ind. It'll be the 19th consecutive season that the two men's soccer programs are meeting.
Fans may watch the match live via YouTube and live statistics will also be available for the game in Fort Wayne.
The Titans are coming off a 1-0 setback at home to Bowling Green on Tuesday. Detroit Mercy is playing in its seventh non-league match of the season (2-4 overall in non-conference contests). It'll also be the last time that Detroit Mercy plays Purdue Fort Wayne in non-league play with the Mastodons joining the Horizon League prior to the 2020-21 academic school year.
On The Pitch:
- The Titans are 2-6-1 overall through nine matches and 2-4 this season in non-league contests, with wins coming over Niagara (2-0) and at San Diego State (3-2).
- Senior defender Garret Weaver, sophomore defender Ryan Halloran and sophomore GK Devin Mendez have played every minute so far in the 2019 campaign (834 minutes).

- Detroit Mercy and Purdue Fort Wayne (formally IPFW) are meeting for the 19th time in men's soccer; The Titans hold an 11-3-4 mark over the Mastodons and won the last meeting in Fort Wayne, earning a 2-1Â win over the Mastodons in 2017.
- The Titans picked up their first Horizon League point of the season in a 1-1 draw at Oakland, with Bandyk scoring the game-tying goal in the 75th minute.
- The red, white and blue visit Michigan next Wednesday, Oct. 9 before hosting Northern Kentucky in a pivotal Horizon League match on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Scouting Purdue Fort Wayne:
- The Mastodons are 3-7 overall and 0-1 in Summit League play entering Friday's match with the Titans, but have dropped their past four contests.
- Purdue Fort Wayne is most recently coming off a 5-0 setback on the road at Cincinnati on Tuesday.
- The Mastodons are 3-3 in home games this season and have a 1-0 victory at home over Horizon League opponent Green Bay on Sept. 17.
- Sophopmore forward Alex Frank leads the squad in goals (four), points (eight), shots (15) and shots on goal (nine) in 2019, while senior forward Blake Cearns has added two goals for the Mastodons.
- In net, sophomore GK Erik Tor Larsen has started all 10 matches for Purdue Fort Wayne and has 47 saves and a 62.7 save percentage this season.

It'll be lone contest against a Big Ten opponent in 2019. The Titans then turn their attention back to Horizon League play, hosting Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Oct. 12 from Titan Field at 7 p.m. ET.
