Lola Ristovski tied her career-high with 17 points and freshman forward
Alex Burr made all five field goal attempts and scored a career-best 10 points, but the Titans fell at Cleveland State on Thursday, 67-51.
Ristovski was 5-of-10 from the floor in the game and sank all five free throw attempts. She made two 3-pointers. Burr scored 10 points in 11 minutes played, adding five rebounds for the Titans. It was the first double-figure scoring game in her career.
Detroit Mercy, which trailed by double figures at the break, went on a 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter, scoring three buckets in the opening 45 seconds of the frame. Burr and Ristovski combined for 14 of Detroit Mercy's 20 points in the final stanza, but couldn't overcome the deficit in the setback to the Vikings. Freshman
Sophia DiMilia added a team-high six rebounds.
Scouting Youngstown State
Youngstown State opened up the second half of Horizon League play Thursday evening with a 76-61 home victory over Oakland to improve to 8-2 in league play on the season. YSU is 6-0 in HL home contests and 12-1 at home overall this season. The Penguins are on a four-game win steak overall entering Saturday's game.
Four players average in double figures in a balanced scoring attack with Sarah Cash (13.5 ppg), Mary Dunn (13.4 ppg) and Alison Smolinski (13.1 ppg) all in the top-eight in the Horizon League in scoring. Chelsea Olson also averages in double figures and ranks seventh in the league in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and first in assists per game (4.3). As a team, YSU is first in 3-pointers made (172), assists (325), free throw percentage (76.3) and field goal percentage (41.7) in the Horizon League.

Detroit Mercy holds a 23-21 mark against Youngstown State in the all-time series, dating back to 1983. The Titans are 8-14 in road contests and 3-4 under head coach
Bernard Scott in the past four seasons.
The Titans have dropped the past three to YSU, falling 85-59 earlier this season in the HL opener on Dec. 28 to the Penguins. Detroit Mercy had won three-straight over YSU prior to the current three-game skid.
