Former Titan Kameron Chatman Now In The NBA G League

DETROIT (2/19/19) -- Former University of Detroit Mercy standout Kameron Chatman '18 is one step closer to the NBA as he is now a member of the Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks.

The BayHawks acquired Chatman from the available player pool. 

He started his professional career with Pinar Karsiyaka in the Turkish Basketball League. He played in 13 games with three starters in the regular season and in nine games and three starts in the FIBA Europe Cup. Overall, he averaged 5.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 16.7 minutes of action. 

Chatman was named Second Team All-Horizon League in 2017-18 after leading the team in scoring (17.8), rebounding (8.3) and three-point field goal percentage (41.4%), while finishing second in field-goal percentage (47.2%) and free-throw percentage (84.2%). He was also 71st in the nation at the charity stripe, 81st on the boards and 31st with 6.86 defensive rebounds per game, and was only the sixth Titan to lead the team in scoring and rebounding since 1980.
 
He scored in double figures in 25 of his 29 games with 13, 20-point games – tied for second in the Horizon League – and also had a pair of 30-point games with a game-high 30 points (10-20 FG, 4-8 3FG) with nine rebounds and two assists at UIC and a career-high 31 points (11-15 FG, 5-6 3FG) and with 10 rebounds and three steals at Fort Wayne.

Erie will play at Grand Rapids on Wednesday, Feb. 20, before returning home for back-to-back games this weekend.
