DETROIT (2/25/2019) -- Off a big victory at Marquette, two University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse players were honored by the MAAC for their efforts on the field in sophomore Brett Erskine and freshman Cam Kostus.

Erskine was tabbed the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, while Kostus was named the Rookie of the Week. 

Erskine tallied a career-high four goals and tied his career best with five points in the 15-12 victory at Marquette, the Titans first-ever win against the BIG EAST. He also picked up three ground balls and a couple of his goals were ones for the highlight reel as he showed off his athleticism.

The second-year attackman now has five goals and two assists on the year. 

Kostus continues to impress in his first year as he posted his first career hat trick with three goals in the win over the Golden Eagles. He started the game with a score and added a one-handed laser beating the keeper to help the Titans jump out to a 6-1 first-half lead.

The rookie midfielder has registered five goals and an assist in his first three collegiate games.

Detroit Mercy will be back in action on Saturday as the red, white and blue visit Bellarmine at 1 p.m.
