Ben Kendell placed seventh overall in section two of the 10,000m at the Stanford Invitational on Friday night.
Kendell's time of 29:00.15 place him seventh and was a mere six seconds off the first place mark.
His mark of 29:00.15 was nearly a 25 second improvement from last year.
While placing seventh, Kendell knocked off competitors from power 5 schools including Stanford, Purdue, Indiana, Wisconsin and Syracuse.
Additionally, it earned him a spot in the NCAA Track and Field preliminary round, which is set to be held in Jacksonville, Fla. from May 23-25.
