Titans Downed By Northern Arizona

DETROIT (9/1/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team went on the road to a tough venue and fell 4-0 at Northern Arizona on Sunday.

Detroit Mercy played two goalies as sophomore Cece Muskovac started and made five saves, while freshman Cassidy Joslin started the second half and finished with seven stops.

The 12 saves were the most by a Titan team since it had 13 against Green Bay in 2014 as NAU outshot the red, white and blue, 22-3.

The Titans recorded three shots in the game as senior Megan Pace, junior Olivia Parra and sophomore Hailey Wentzloff each had a shot.

Detroit Mercy will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 4, as the Titans visit Madonna in a 4 p.m. kick-off.

First Period:
  • Muskovac made a save at 2:40
  • Parra had a shot go wide at 3:58 and Wentzloff had an attempt go high at 7:58
  • NAU scored first in the 18th minute
  • The Lumberjacks then got off three shots in a two-minute span - all saved by Muskovac - until they scored again at 25:40 and 27:06

Second Period:
  • The Titans had a corner kick early in the period, but did not get a shot off
  • Joslin made back-to-back saves at 59:36 and 60:30 and also stopped a shot at 61:24
  • Pace booted a ball high in the 68th minute

Game Notes:
  • NAU now leads the all-time series, 2-0
  • The 12 saves by the Titan goalies are the most since Detroit Mercy had 13 against Green Bay in 2014, all by Marina Manzo
