FORT WAYNE, Ind. (9/15/2019) -- Dealing with a few injuries, the University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team finished its weekend road trip with a 2-0 loss at Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday.
Detroit Mercy (2-4-1) was without starters and key players with senior
Megan Pace, junior
Rachel Russo and redshirt sophomore
Rima Youssef all absent, and the Titans fought hard but could not get on the scoreboard.

Cassidy Joslin made four saves in-between the pipes and junior
Olivia Parra and sophomore
Hailey Wentzloff had shots on goal.Â
The red, white and blue will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 20, as the Titans opening the conference slate at defending HL champions Milwaukee.Â
First Period:
- Purdue Fort Wayne fired three shots in the first 10 minutes but all three were not near the net
- Parra put one on net in the 11th-minute mark that was saved
- Junior Neteya Tavernier also had a shot that was wide at 11:28
- Joslin made her first save stopping a Mastodons' attempt at 12:59 and 19:05
- In the 25th minute, Purdue Fort Wayne had a corner kick and a good shot off the set play, but Joslin turned it away
- Redshirt sophomore Riley McCleese had an attempt go high at 32:50
Second Period:
- Parra had another shot that was saved
- The Mastodons added another goal at 52:35
- Joslin picked up a save midway through the period
- With less than two minutes left, Detroit mercy had a corner kick, but it did not result in a shot
Game Notes:
- Detroit Mercy is now 10-2-2 all-time against Purdue Fort Wayne with the only other loss coming in 2003
- The Titans are now 11-4-2 all-time against the Summit League with most of those games against Purdue Fort Wayne along with a win over Western Illinois and two losses to Denver
