MILWAUKEE (9/20/2019) -- Sophomore
Cece Muskovac posted a season-high 12 saves, but two goals in the first half by Milwaukee was enough as the University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team fell, 2-0, on the road on Friday night.
The game was the Horizon League opener for both teams.
Muskovac's 12 saves were the most by a Titan goalie since 2014 as Detroit Mercy fell to 2-5-1 on the season, while Milwaukee improved to 8-1-0.
The Titans kept Milwaukee off the scoreboard early as Muskovac had five saves in the first 12 minutes, but the Panthers scored in the 19th minute and added a goal right before the half.
Detroit Mercy almost had a goal at the end of the first, but it was waived off by the official on a foul call.
After playing six-straight on the road, Detroit Mercy will be at home for five of the next six, starting with a non-conference affair with Toledo this Sunday, Sept. 22, with game time set for 5 p.m.
