DETROIT (1/10/2020) -- The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will be inside historic Calihan Hall on Dick Vitale Court and will feature former Titan sensation and college basketball slam dunk champion
Doug Anderson.
The event is set for Saturday. Feb. 1, at 7 p.m.
Don't miss the one and only Harlem Globetrotters in an all-new tour with new high-flying dunks, hilarious stunts, a new record-breaking attempt!
Anderson, a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, played two seasons with the Titans and was part of two postseason squads as the 2012 team won the Horizon League Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, while the 2013 team earned a bid to the NIT.
He averaged 9.2 points as a junior, starting 31 of the Titans' 36 games, and shot 52.2 percent from the floor as 58 of his 119 field goals were dunks. As a senior, he started all 33 games averaging 12.1 points while shooting 53.4 percent with 77 of his 174 field goals coming by way of rocking the rim.
He had the No. 1 dunk on ESPN SportsCenter's Top Plays on three different occasions in 2012-13, including the top two dunks of the year with the top one versus Temple, and that was after a junior year that saw him also take No. 1 on ESPN SportsCenter's Top Plays with a dunk against Valparaiso. He would also go on to win the 2013 College Slam Dunk championship.Â
The Titans have a proud history with the Globetrotters as six players have gone on to play with the team in Bacari Alexander, Larry Bleach, Mike Harmon, Gerald Smith, Tony Tolbert and Jimmy Tyman.
