MILWAUKEE, Wis. (2/16/2020) -- Sophomore forward Maxine Moore recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team fell 76-51 at Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon from the Klotsche Center.

The Titans dropped to 3-11 in the Horizon League in the setback, while the Panthers improved to 8-6 in the league. Detroit Mercy is in the middle of a four-game road swing, which takes them to Ohio next weekend for games against Youngstown State and Cleveland State.

Moore tallied double-figure rebounds for the first time in her career -- totaling three offensive rebounds and 11 total boards in the contest. Freshman guard Sylare Starks added eight points, freshman guard Annika Corcoran and junior Aly Reiff each had six points and senior Zoey Oatis tallied five points, a career-best four assists and two blocks for the Titans.

Milwaukee scored the first nine points of the contest, before the Titans countered with a 6-1 run with Reiff connecting on back-to-back 3-pointers -- both off Oatis' feeds. Moore scored her first field goal of the game late in the first quarter, but the red, white and blue trailed after one quarter, 13-8.

Detroit Mercy had a tough time getting the offense going early in the second quarter as Milwaukee opened a double-figure advantage. The Titans ended the second quarter strong, however, scoring eight-straight points in a span of 70 seconds late in the stanza with Moore hitting a 3-pointer, Oatis finishing on a drive to the rim and Corcoran drilling a triple after Oatis had a clean block at the other end. All four of Oatis' assists came in the first half. The Titans had cut into the Panthers lead, but Milwaukee led at the break, 36-20.

The Titans came out firing early in the third quarter, scoring the first four points on back-to-back field goals by Moore and Oatis to cut the Panther lead to 12. After a Milwaukee 3-pointer, Detroit Mercy scored the next eight points with Moore sinking a pair of free throws at the line and then Starks and Corcoran connecting on back-to-back 3-pointers. One minute later, Oatis split a pair at the free throw line as Detroit Mercy used a 13-3 run to pull to within six points, 39-33, with 4:39 left in the third quarter.

Milwaukee responded, however, hitting four of the final five field goals from either team in the remainder of the quarter to lead after three, 49-35. The two teams traded buckets early in the fourth quarter with freshman Bridgid Fox and Moore each connecting on shots, but the Panthers would go on a run to take command of the contest.

Starks connected on her second 3-pointer of the game later in the contest and freshman Abbie McDowell scored five points in the final stanza -- converting on a tough, running lay-up midway through the frame before sinking a 3-pointer from the corner later on. Her five total points were a career-best for the Titans.

Detroit Mercy connected on 8-of-22 attempts (36.4) from 3-point range in the game and made 33.3-percent of field goal attempts (19-of-57) overall. Corcoran, Reiff and Starks all sank multiple 3-pointers for the Titans. Corcoran added two steals.

Milwaukee held the rebounding advantage, 40-30, and shot well from the floor during the contest -- hitting 12-of-25 treys (48-percent) and 26-of-57 field goal tries (45.6 percent).
