EDISON, NJ (2/3/2020) -- Off an exciting season-opening victory at Jacksonville, a pair of Detroit Mercy lacrosse players were honored for their performance in redshirt freshman
Kyle Waters and junior
Paul Manuszak.
Waters was selected the MAAC Offensive and Rookie of the Week, while Manuszak captured the Defensive Player of the Week accolade.Â
Waters posted five goals and six points in his collegiate debut, including tying the game at 14-14 with five minutes left and then tallying the game-winner with 1:45 remaining. The five goals and six points were the most ever by a Titan playing in his first game.
Manuszak registered five ground balls and a caused turnover, but the caused turnover helped the Titans kill off a one-minute man-down penalty with under a minute to go in the game to help seal the triumph.
The Titans will be back in action tomorrow, Feb. 4, as they visit #12 Ohio State.Â
