Longtime Fan, Donor William Froling Passes Away

DETROIT (6/15/2020) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics is in mourning after the passing of longtime supporter and alum William Froling in early June.

A staple at basketball games throughout his life as well as football games in the 50's and 60's, Froling entered eternal life on June 2.

"Bill was a true Titan who will be missed at Calihan Hall," said Director of Athletics Robert C. Vowels, Jr. "He was compassionate and dedicated to our athletics program for a long time. He loved the basketball program and would come to practices and games and watching our guys play truly put a smile on his face. He bleeds red and white and will be missed by everyone here at Detroit Mercy."
