DETROIT (10/10/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team fell just short in a hard-fought Sunday matinee from Titan Field against the IUPUI Jaguars, 1-0.
It was the seventh loss on the year for the red, white and blue by just one goal, including all five of its Horizon League setbacks.
In the first half, Detroit Mercy (2-11-1, 1-5-1 HL) would attempt five shots, including three in the first 15 minutes of action. Senior
Julie Ann Piechocki led the Titans in shots that half with two - a mark she would finish the game with.
The Jaguars (3-10-1-1, 2-5-0 HL) would net the lone goal of the match 34 minutes in.
In the second half of play, the Titans would take four more shots, landing one on net via senior
Hailey Wentzloff in the 87th minute. Detroit Mercy would finish the contest with nine total shots and one shot on goal. They would also tally a 5-2 edge in corner kicks, including back-to-back opportunities in the 66th minute.

Jazmine Scott made her third consecutive start for the Titans. Scott would finish the game with three saves and has now collected eight total saves over the last three contests.
The Titans will finish up a two-game homestand on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 p.m. from Titan Field when the Milwaukee Panthers visit the Motor City.
